ASSEMBLY:

Sew the two half circles together by placing both wrong sides outward. Sew them along the outermost stitches like shown in the below image.

TOP EDGE

  • Round 1 – Join yarn with SL-ST at one side of bag, CH3 ( counts as 1 TR), work 133 TR evenly around the top edge of bag (2 TR over slant TR ST and 1 TR over DC ST). Total TR= 134 .
  • Round 2 – Turn, CH4, work 1 TR in every TR ST. While decreasing 2 TR evenly in this round. Total TR = 132
  • Round 3 – Turn, CH4, work 1 TR in every TR ST. While decreasing 2 TR evenly in this round. Total TR = 130
  • Round 4 – Turn, CH4, work 1 TR in every TR ST. While decreasing 2 TR evenly in this round. Total TR = 128
  • Round 5 – Turn, CH4, work 1 TR in every TR ST. While decreasing 2 TR evenly in this round. Total TR = 126
  • Round 6 – Turn, CH3, work 1 DC in every TR ST. While decreasing 6 DC evenly in this round. Total TR = 120
  • Round 7 – Turn, CH1, work 1 SL-ST in every DC ST. Total ST = 120
  • The bag measures around 30 cm from mid bottom to top and 36 cm in diameter.

STRAP

  • With markers, mark middle 14 stitches on each side to work the strap.
  • Row 1 – Join yarn with SL-ST at one side of the bag, CH2 (counts as 1 DC) work 1 DC in next 13 ST.
  • Row 2 – Turn, CH3, DC in each ST
  • Repeat row 2 back and forth till row 50 or to the desired length.
  • Sew the end of the strap to the opposite side of bag between the marked stitches. Fasten off.
