The inspiration for the colour pallet of olive green and relaxed yet functional fit are inspired from the dressing style of the lead character of Dr. Nell Ward series by Sarah Yarwood-Lovett that has been on my reading list recently.

Dr. Nell Ward is an ecologist, who while inspecting an old tunnel, overhears a murder. Nell soon finds herself in the middle of the investigation. Desperate to clear her name, she sets out solving the murder using her skills as ecologists to uncover details no one else would notice. There is a sweet romantic angle to the story as well.

Its a six book series with fourth scheduled for release in August 2023. (Cant wait to get my hands on it as soon as it releases!! ) The novels are light hearted, fun and engaging little mysteries. I will recommend the series to anyone who is into Agatha Christie kind of books.

Difficulty level – Intermediate

The pattern is written using US crochet stitch terminology. Here hook size 3.5 mm (E/4) is used. The tension is 20 half double crochet x 16 rows = 10 cm in width and 10 cm in height. Please note that the hook size provided is for reference. Since we all crochet differently, some tight and some loose, hence, if you find you have more stitches on 10 cm = 4” swatch, change to a larger hook size. And if there are lesser stitches on 10 cm = 4” swatch, change to a smaller hook size.

Measurements

The measurements provided in the adjoining image are approximate as we all crochet differently, some tight and some loose and might lead to some differences in measurements. Hence, the chart is for reference purpose. By adding couple more rounds at the bottom you can increase the length of the top and vice versa.
