How To Crochet Granny Square Bag – The Humble Bag

The pattern I am sharing with you is a quick and easy project that can be made with scrap yarn using single colour for elegant look or different colours for a fun look.

The pattern is for The Humble bag. This lovely bag comes with an inside pocket as well for keeping those keys or mobile or some cash/ cards.

Whats more this bag takes less than a day to finish too.

Yarn which is used for making this bag is WOA fashions acrylic hand knitting yarn in colour multi blue-light blue. This has been one of the best yarns I have worked with. The texture is so soft and it’s cool on the eyes too. It gave a cozy perfect fit to the garment made using this yarn.

I had ordered an excess quantity of this yarn when I was planning to make the granny square cardigan.Turned out about 150g was still left. After numerous attempts to find another project to make use of this lovely yarn, I decided to make granny squares out of it and later settle on what to do with them.

I was able to make fourteen granny squares and some yarn to sew these together. I wanted to make a crop top. So, I started sewing all these squares together. But to my horror I realised it requires few more squares to complete and I had none left. This made me anxious.

Instead of freaking out I left the project on the table and went to the kitchen. Made some nice n hot honey lemon green tea and came back.

With my system rebooted I arranged and rearranged the squares. And just like that by sewing the bottom three squares turned a bunch of granny squares into this beautiful shape of a bag. Excited and immensely happy with self I immediately made two strings and attached to the top of the bag and ta-da my humble bag came into existence!

This bag is made my stitching together 14 granny squares. Let’s start by making the granny square which we will replicate thirteen times over.
