Drops Design Studio- Seashore Bliss Cardigan
In this series I will share with you the hidden gems i loved to crochet and they are very much part of my wardrobe.
I adore layering. Especially how it puts together and completes a look. Whether it’s a casual outing or I mean business there is a cardigan, a jacket or a poncho for every look and style. When I first started to learn to crochet, the idea that now I can create my own unique wardrobe was astounding.
For months and months I was consumed by this very question ! How do I crochet the perfect long cardigan. It had to be long enough and should have some beautiful and intricate stitch work. I did stumble upon a few. Some were too airy while others were made for colder regions. Some did not have proper instructions while others were not free patterns. But at last I found one that was just the right one for me. This is a free pattern by Drops design. It’s called the Seashore Bliss Cardigan. This crochet jacket has lace pattern and round neck. It is worked top down thus making it easier to work it upto the required length. Whats more, this pattern is available in sizes S-XXXL. It has everything i wished to have in my long cardigan.
This pattern is about thigh high with 3/4 sleeves. I wanted a longer one so i worked the lenght up till the knee. Also i made mine into a full sleeves. Then added ten rows of double crochet at the end of each sleeves to give it a more finished look.

The yarn that i have used to make this cardigan is Ganga Magica- Shade No. 1548. This brand has some of the best shades of multicoloured yarns. Since the length of cardigan is made upto knee length it used about 500gm yarn ie. six balls of the yarn. I mostly buy indigenous brands of yarn and one of the best online places to get your hands on different varieties available in indian market is Pradhan Embroidary Stores
This is a beautiful multicolour soft acrylic yarn. Its fiber has this combination of softness and self sheen to it. Yardage approx. 240mtrs per 100gm/ ball. The crochet hook size required to work this yarn is 3.5mm-4.5mm.
The combination of Drops Design pattern and Ganga Magica yarn has produced this stunning cardigan from which i can not take my eyes or hands off.
Crochet this in single colour to have a classic and graceful look. Use multicolour or combination of different shades to get that bright and jolly flavour.
