The best crochet creation series – 4
Now here’s something you will not only love to crochet but also flaunt as soon as you are done with it. This is one of those projects which can be made with the scarp yarn from the main project.
After completing the celebration blouse project (Link here – Celebration crop top ) there was some yarn left. So, I decided why not make an accessory to go with the blouse. The blouse was designed keeping the indian festivities in mind. Some of us do love to carry a “batua” to the wedding festivities to match our traditional garments. It just gives that quirky little twist to the get up.
I had come across this pattern multiple times. It was always on my ‘next project list’. With the celebration top finished and ample yarn left this was the most tempting accessory choice for me.
The pattern is well illustrated step by step along with diagrams provided for the design pattern. I had never had any problem understanding the patterns by drops design.
The colour combination has come out so nicely. I have made a few changes to the colour pattern with respect to the original pattern. Find the original pattern by drops design here HUSH HUSH
Pointers while making this pattern by drops design.
- Always count your stitches not only for every round but while increasing the stitches.
- Do not go ahead if you have skipped a stitch or made a mistake with colour change; it will show as soon as you reach the next round and you will not be able to get the desired pattern effect.
- If possible use yarns using same hook size as different size yarns will result into uneven design and holes in between.
- Do not cut the yarn after every round, rather carry it till the project is finished. This will give a far finished look to the product.
- At the end of the project you may give a border of picot stitch in the colour of the garment you want to carry it with as I did to match the celebration top.
Happy crocheting !!
